I just realised that the fun jewellery we girls wear is so delicate. Glass bangles, earrings and necklaces with beads that scatter around with one wrong move. The material itself is so fragile: plastic or metal that bends and breaks easily, like we are sometimes expected to, I suppose. The stuff men wear is strong, durable, made of metal. While I am obviously keeping the rich, gold and diamond stuff out of the equation here, and despite the planned obsolescence of most articles manufactured today, this difference in something that gives us happiness by making us look and feel good, irked me. And that's why Yours Truly went ahead and bought these wooden-metal bangles.
