It's not Cli-Fi Anymore
Overthinking, hopefully
I had written a short-story - my first one - a couple of years ago. It is set in the 2050s and revolves around the happenings in a national meteorological station.
I proudly called my story a "cli-fi", climate-fiction and named it "In the Not-so-Distant Future".
Give it a read here on VOV.
I am not proud of my allergies - I am the first one to fall sick whenever the weather changes or even when I am exposed to wind.
I have been put on medication almost indefinitely. Just small doses to keep me from feeling like there's a motor running in my nose all the time, but I'm still not comfortable with this fact.
So I wrote
Weather change brings me down with flu,
I wonder what climate change would do.
I happened to read my own short story today and apart from reminding me to watch the weather, it left me wondering if I would be be better off or worse off than Suraj.
Ain't got a bloody clue.
I won't even try to think of his wife.
